The Bwiti Tradition
Bwiti is a traditional spiritual path, it is the study of life itself and the art of knowing. It is not a religion or a cult, but a path of spiritual self-discovery for which Iboga is the teacher. You cannot have Iboga without Bwiti, or Bwiti without Iboga.

The Bwiti tradition began in southern Gabon, when the Babongo "forest people" discovered Iboga. Iboga taught them about themselves, how to heal and shared the profound teachings and tradition still used today.

The Spirit of Iboga
The Bwiti use Iboga as a tool to connect to nature and the truth inside themselves.

All of the Bwiti teachings came directly from Iboga. Only shared orally, the teachings show us how to live a life we love. The teachings came directly from the medicine and are rooted in universal truth. The teachings have not changed in the thousands of years since they were first shared.

From Gabon to the World
The Missoko Bwiti tradition hasn't changed since it was discovered thousands of years ago. Nothing is added, nothing is taken away. The Bwiti practiced their traditions in secrecy to protect them from Western beliefs and influence.

It is only very recently that Westerners have been able to access the medicine of Iboga and the Bwiti teachings. Moughenda, 10th Generation Shaman, was called by Iboga to share the medicine and traditions with the World.

The Bwiti do not write anything down, all teachings and traditions are shared orally and passed down from generation to generation. We are incredibly blessed to be living in a time when we can access the healing power of Iboga.

What is Missoko Bwiti?
The Missoko Bwiti tradition comes directly from the Dissumba tradition, the original form of Bwiti. It is the purest form of Bwiti that has remained untouched by outside influences since its discovery.

Missoko Bwiti brought forth all of the healing therapies - all of which have been passed from "breath to breath" for over a thousand years. Truth is timeless and the Missoko Bwiti are stewards of the truth.

The Bwiti have been gifted knowledge how to heal utilizing natural medicine. Nature is food or medicine, they do not abuse it or become attached to nature. Missoko Bwiti contains all of the branches of Bwiti, which are:
Ngonde’ na Dipouma—screening or diagnostics
Miobe’—herbs, plants, and how to use them
Seguedia—knowledge and creation
Boussouka—protection
Maboundi—empowering women

The Study of Life Itself
In English, Bwiti is loosely translated to “School of Life.” Those who are Bwiti are students of life.
